Vincent Robert Clark of Grove died at 2:25 a.m., Monday, February 18, 2008 at Integris Grove General Hospital. He was 91. Vincent was born January 1, 1917 in Cherryvale, Kansas. His parents were Percy l. and Katherine J. (Davis) Clark. He attended schools in Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from high school in Wichita. While still in high school, Vincent began working in the aircraft industry in Wichita. During this time, he developed a life-long love of the airplane. He enjoyed working on and just being around airplanes. Vincent served his country in the both the U. S. Army and U.S. Navy. He retired from the Naval Reserves in the early 1970's after serving since first entering on September 26, 1942 during World War II where he served as an Aviation Chief Metal Smith. He was a member of the Masons and the American Legion. On October 1, 1940, he married the love of his life, Jean Margaret Penney in Sedgwick, Kansas. She survives him. He is also survived by their only child, Michael A. Clark and his wife Sandra S. of Holt, Michigan. Vincent was preceded in death by his half-brother Ole John. The family invites friends to visit with them from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 2008 in the Magnolia Room at Grand Lake Villa, 103 W. 13th St., Grove, OK. The family kindly requests no flowers and instead would like memorials given to Delaware Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Clark. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 22, 2008 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove with Rev. Gary Bishop officiating. The Grove Ritual Team will provide military honors at the funeral home following the service. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Bishop, Zac Bishop, David East, Dean Mills, Rick Shick and Chet Wilkes. Burial will take place in Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2008. Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove is in charge of arrangements.
