Viola Frakes Stockton passed away on August 25, 2021, at the age of 94, after living a long and fulfilling life with her family at her bedside.  Viola Frakes Stockton was born March 24, 1927 to Only and Alice (Mattingly) Frakes in Okesa, Oklahoma. She was educated in Pershing, Oklahoma and was a graduate of Pawhuska High School. She was employed at the Commerce National Bank, where she worked as a book keeper when she met Ben L. Stockton. Ben and Viola were married on June 5, 1948 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. They lived in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and then moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1950. They returned to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1954, where they made their home. Ben worked for several construction companies before starting his own, Stockton Construction Company in 1961. Viola served as the book keeper for the company until retirement in 1985.

Viola was a member of the 1st Methodist Church. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star. Viola was awarded the Grand Cross of Color from the Order of Rainbow Girls, for her service in the community and within the Rainbow Girls. Viola took pride that her family (Ben, Viriginia, and herself) were one of the few Masonic families, that all members were honored with the Grand Cross of Colors. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and taking care of her family.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ben L. Stockton, her parents, and her sister, Beulah Frakes. Viola is survived by her daughter, Viriginia (Stockton) Guild and husband Carl, of Moore, Oklahoma. Three grandchildren, Elizabeth Guild, of Noble, Oklahoma; Ben Guild, of San Antonio, Texas; and Janet (Guild) Triplitt and husband Heath, of Blanchard, Oklahoma. Three great-grandchildren, Carlie Triplitt, of Lincoln, Nebraska; Lauren Triplitt, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Andrew Triplitt, of Blanchard, Oklahoma.

I lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Shiner’s Hospital or St. Jude’s Hospital.
