Virginia Lynn Mabery passed from this life on Monday, April 2, 2012. Virginia was the 8th child of P.C. and Emma Belle Stuart and was born on February 1, 1927 in Nowata, Oklahoma. Virginia graduated from Darlington High School in Darlington, South Carolina in 1944. She married Leonard Mabery on October 4, 1952 in Nowata, Oklahoma. Leonard and Virginia resided in Nowata until 1965 when they made their home in Bartlesville. Virginia was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company for more than 40 years, retiring in 1984. Following her retirement, she remained active in her church work and was a charter member of the Nowata Church of God. She also served as Sunday school teacher, alter flower coordinator and choir member. Virginia was also active in community service projects volunteering for the American Heart Association and serving as Head Docent for the La Quinta Mansion for many years. Virginia loved to quilt, work in her flower gardens and travel. She and Leonard visited all 50 states as well as many countries in Europe, Asia and Australia. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard Mabery and siblings; Darlene Stuart Neal, Hazel Stuart Jordan, Norma Jean Stuart McElveen, Cecil Stuart, Howard Stuart and Paul Stuart. She is survived by sisters Elna Mae Stuart Hastings, Lorraine Stuart Bishop and Mary Lois Stuart Hollett. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2012 at the First Church of God in Nowata with Pastor Wendell Abbott officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata. Services have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service.
