Virginia Murle Mandlebaum, age 89, a former resident of Bartlesville died Thursday May 3, 2007 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Virginia Murle Mandlebaum was born in Drew, Mississippi, August 5, 1917, the daughter of Webb Brock and Lora Lee (Holland). She was raised and educated in Drew, Mississippi. She received her bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the University of Mississippi. Virginia Murle Brock and Bernard F. Mandlebaum were united in marriage on June 23, 1940. Virginia and Bernard moved to Bartlesville where Bernard was employed with the Phillips Petroleum Company and Virginia worked as a pharmacist for many years. Virginia was a fifty year member of, Chapter 142 Order of the Eastern Star, and was active for 25 years in the Jane Phillips Hospital Auxiliary earning more than 32,000 hours of dedicated service. Mrs. Virginia Murle Mandlebaum is survived by two sons Dean Mandlebaum and his wife Carol of Tulsa, Ok, Bill Mandlebaum and his wife Linda of Bowling Green, Ohio; one daughter Ann Gibson and her husband David of Bolivar, Missouri; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Mandlebaum is preceded in death by her husband Bernard F. Mandlebaum. A memorial has been established with the Scott Sanditen Memorial Community Service Fund and those who wish to contribute may do so in lieu of flowers to the Scott Sanditen Memorial Community Service Fund, C/O Congregational B'Nai Emunah, 1719 S Owasso, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74120. Contributions may also be made to the SPCA Animal Shelter, 16620 State Highway 123, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74003 Graveside services were held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2007 at the Memorial Park Cemetery, with Chaplin Murle Newton officiating.
