Wallace W. Taylor, 93 year-old Vinita resident, passed away, Wednesday October 21, 2009 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. He was born May 16, 1916 northwest of Vinita at his homestead he still owns, to William "Bill" and Grace (Ager) Taylor. Wallace was a graduate of Ketchum High School and the Oklahoma University Electrical Science Engineering program. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for 51 years, he was a safety inspector at the Ammunition Depot, was a trainer at Hatbox Field, working stints at GRDA and mainly at the dam in Ft. Gibson. Wallace married Ruby (Reid) on December 8, 1983 in Ft. Smith Arkansas. They made their home in Wagoner for many years until moving back home 20 years ago. Wallace was a member of the Kelso Baptist Church, NARFE and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a dedicated Democrat, fisherman, hunter and an avid pool player, playing against some of the best in years past. The family includes: his wife Ruby of the home, two daughters, Sally Byrd and husband John of Tulsa, Patsy Hair and husband Dale of Tulsa, one sister Margaret Day; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, The funeral will be held Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor George Vaughn officiating.
