Walter Leonard "Buss" Simmons, 95 year old Vinita resident, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was born January 1, 1915 in Strang to Mack Cloud and Bertha Louvina (Holt) Simmons. Buss married Lelah Mae Mozell Kay on November 26, 1936, she preceded him in death on February 4, 2003, later Buss was married to Nadine Mulanax, and she also preceded him in death on March 29, 2006. He had lived in the Pensacola area for many years where he was a rancher-dairyman. Buss and Lelah moved to Vinita in 1980. While living in Pensacola he attended the Utopia Baptist Church, after moving to Vinita, he became a member of the First Baptist Church of Vinita. The family includes; his son Walter Junior Simmons and wife Carolyn of Vinita, four granddaughters, Julie Simmons and husband Wade Tinkel of the Woodlands, Texas, Teresa Collins and husband Tom of Miami, Debbie Brandon and husband Jeffrey of Houston, Texas, Kimberly Greening and husband Scott of Tahlequah; six great-grandchildren, Michael Collins of Suffolk Virginia, Gene Collins of Miami, Megan Collins of Miami, Sarah McElhaney of Houston, Texas, K. C. Greening and Jaycee Greening both of Tahlequah; one great-great-grandchild, Greta Collins of Suffolk, Virginia; a brother John D. Simmons of Tulsa, sister, Mabel Wilmoth and husband Pete of Spiro. Preceding him in death were his parents, two wives, a brother, Leeroy D. Simmons, two sisters, Eunice Kay and Letha Huggins. The funeral service will be held Thursday April 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Luginbuel Chapel, with Pastor Henry "Skip" McClain officiating. Interment will follow at the Ghormley Cemetery, near Pensacola. Friends may give to the St. Francis Hospice of Vinita. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
