Walter Allen Wilkerson, 27, of Tulsa, Oklahoma died at 6:10 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Walter was born May 5, 1981 at Claremore, Oklahoma to Walter Allen Hogshooter and Jill Marie Wilkerson. He attended school in Jay, Oklahoma. Walter had lived most of his life in Tulsa. He had a passion for music and loved playing video games. While he was still in good health, Walter loved playing basketball and was an accomplished swimmer. However, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his niece Alexandra. Survivors include his father, Walter Allen Hogshooter of Tahlequah; his mother, Jill Marie Wilkerson of Tulsa; his grandmother, Jessie Lee Coker of Spavinaw; two brothers, Daniel Lee Eglain and his wife Kendall of Pryor and Michael Allen Wilkerson of Tulsa; three sisters, Tamatha Marie Wilkerson and her husband Sam, Twyla Wyone King, and Tosha Lee Green all of Tulsa; one niece, Alexandra Cheyenne Riley of Tulsa, one nephew, Riley Eglain of Pryor; his girlfriend of three years, Tiffany Jumper; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Walter will lie in state at the Mary Hogshooter home west of Topsy, Oklahoma from noon Wednesday, June 25, 2008 until service time. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Round Springs Baptist Church near Eucha with Rev. Jimmy Muskrat officiating. Burial will follow in Round Springs Cemetery near Eucha. Pallbearers will be Michael Wilkerson, William Estes, Stevie Smoke, Derrick Smoke, William Buzzard and Robert Pickle. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Buzzard and Jessie Hogshooter. Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay is in charge of arrangements.
