Wanda Fay Mead Brixey Obituary Wanda Fay Brixey, 82, of Broken Arrow entered eternal refuge in the shadow of the wings of her savior on December 17, 2015 in her home surrounded by loving family. Born October 21, 1933 in Crisp, Texas, to Amos Raymond and Jessie Montez Bryson Mead, she was the eldest of seven children. Despite genetic blindness, Wanda Fay was a highly awarded business woman. She was the managing operator of many coffee shops in Downtown Tulsa including the US Army Corp of Engineers, Williams Tower 1, and the Internal Revenue Service for over 20 years beginning in 1979. Since 1973, Sister Wanda has been an active and dedicated member of Bible Chapel Church in Broken Arrow, OK. Loved and respected by all who knew her, blindness from the age 31 never stopped her from doing anything. She is preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Jessie; brothers George Thomas, Amos Andy, and Gene Ray; sister, Nancy Leo Gordon; grandson, Jeremy Gabriel Brixey; and great-grandson John Buchanan, Jr. She is survived by sister Loretta Smith of Brawley, CA and brother Roy Scott "Rusty" Mead of Jay, OK; three children, Henry and Carol Brixey of Jay, OK; Margaret Flanagan Paul and Don Paul of Broken Arrow, OK; and Jodie and Janice Brixey of Broken Arrow, OK; 22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and countless honorary family members. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Kingdom Campground in Galena, Kansas. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma.
