Grove - Warren James, age 87, died on September 3, 2008 at the Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma. Warren was born on July 26, 1921 to George W. and Hattie (Sterman) James in Mayes County in the Pryor Oklahoma area. Warren served this country in the Marine Corps. Warren moved from Escondido California to Grove, Oklahoma in 1996. He was part of a group called the quiet bird men, golfing, hunting, and fishing in Spring River. Mr. James retired from AT&T as a telephone Pioneer. He then started his second career by getting his pilot's license and worked as an A and P mechanic rebuilding and painting airplanes as a mechanic. Warren was also a member of the American Legion. Warren is survived by his two sons Warren A. James and Randy James, five (plus one on the way) grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one sister, Alma Aldnitch. Warren was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Susan James. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Grove Municipal Airport, in Hanger #1 with Reverend Gary Bishop officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Grand Lake Baptist Assembly, 25300 S. 650 Rd., Grove, OK 74344.
