Wayne Buckett

Wayne "Peekie" Buckett Wayne died Sunday June 11, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Ks. at the age of 70. Wayne was born July 19, 1935 to Grover and Gladys (Quallate) Buckett at Grove, Ok. He married Edna Sue Beard December 20, 1958 at Miami, Ok. Wayne worked at Vulcan Chemical Plant in the maintenance department for over 30 years retiring in 1998. He was a member of the V.F.W. #8380 in Grove. He was under the care of the Hospice of Kansas and the Harry Hines Hospice, both in Wichita during his last few days receiving great care. He was preceded in death by one brother, Eldon Eugene Buckett and one sister, Arahawana Masters. Survivors includes his wife Edna Buckett of Wichita, Ks. Three children: Debbie Cox and husband Mike of Derby, Ks. and Tebbie Payton and husband Jerry of Derby, Ks. ,and Kyle Buckett of Wichita, Ks. Two brothers: Sam Buckett and Charles Buckett both of Grove, Ok. Three sisters: Mary Murphy of Wellington, Ks., Audine George of Wichita, Ks., and Pattie Rodman of Fairland, Ok. Four grandchildren: Jeremy Cox, Jennifer Cox, Tyler Payton, and Troy Payton. One great grandson: Harper Weston Cox. Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday June 14, 2006 at the Delaware County Baptist Church in Grove, Ok. with Rev. Larry Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at the Butler Cemetery in Grove. Family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Ok.
