Wayne Alvin Dickson, 75, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Monroe Manor Nursing Center in Jay, OK. Wayne was born October 8, 1931, in Delaware County, OK, to Mary Alice (Dickson) Stellmon. It took a village to raise Wayne, as he was born with multiple birth defects, and encountered many challenges throughout his life. His loving grandmother, Sadie Dickson, helped her daughter by acting as a second mother to Wayne. Wayne was a faithful member of the Faith Mission Church in Jay, OK. He loved God, his church, and his family. Wayne worked as a handyman for Sutherland Farms in Maysville, Arkansas for seventeen years. He loved playing marbles, dominoes, and Wolf Hunt. Wayne also liked riding his mule in the parade, until no longer able due to failing health. Wayne always looked forward to his birthday, which was celebrated with a big hog fry at the community center. Wayne is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Stellmon. He is survived by two half brothers, George W. Stellmon and his wife Jean of Jay, OK; Franklin Dee Stellmon and his wife Janice of Siloam Springs, AR; one half sister, Mary Ann Scales of Commerce City, CO; a loving cousin (who was really more like a sister), Anna May Gibson and her husband George of Grove, OK, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at the Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Jay, OK, with Pastor Chester Crittenden officiating. Justin Gibson will deliver the eulogy. Casket bearers are: John Tanner, Joe Hutchison, John Stevenson, Johnny Key, Justin Gibson, and Michael Shotpouch. Visitation will take place from 4pm until 6pm on Monday, January 22, 2007, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, in Jay.
