Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma Wendell Paul Clingan, Jr. passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Southern Regional Medical Center in Tulsa after a long battle with cancer. He was born September 16, 1936 in Delaware, Oklahoma, to Violet (Jarrett) and Wendell Paul Clingan, Sr. Wendell was a 1954 graduate of Nowata High School. In 1958 he married Martha Perkin and they had two daughters, Jill Jeanenne and Jina D'Ann. Wendell married Gwen Voth in Wichita, Kansas, on January 1, 1969. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad in Track Maintenance, and was a member of Nowata's First United Methodist Church. Wendell served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed the outdoors, riding his motorcycle and spending time at the lake. He was an avid sports fan, especially if it involved the Oklahoma Sooners. The most important part of his life was the time spent with his family. His favorite role was being a grandfather, and he loved going to all their activities. Wendell's unique wit and sense of humor were enjoyed by everyone he knew. He is survived by his wife Gwen of the home; two daughters, Stacy Kaiser and Kelly Hines and her husband Robert; two brothers, Jerry Clingan and John Clingan; six grandchildren, Avery Clingan, Blake Clingan, Chloe Kaiser, Caroline Kaiser, Clare Hines, Hannah Hines. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Jarrett Clingan.
