William Bryant

William Alfred "W. A." Bryant, 92 formerly of Vinita, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Bradford Village in Edmond. He was born on June 8, 1921 in Strang, Oklahoma to Fred and Nona Eolene (Bell) Bryant. W. A. served his country in the Army Air Corp and the U. S. Army during World War II and Korea, from September of 1942 to June of 1969, he fully retired in 1980. He later worked as Vice President for C & L Supply and Luginbuel Funeral Home. W. A. married Betty J. Cauthon on July 13, 1946 in Oswego, Kansas. They lived many years in Vinita, before moving to Edmond in 1992. Betty preceded him in death on September 6, 2005. W. A. was ordained as a Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Vinita in 1957, and was a very active member until moving to Edmond. W. A. and Betty loved to travel and spent a good deal of time around the South Padre Island area in Texas. The family includes; his daughters, Toni Marie Nix of Edmond, Connie Rae Webb of Beaverton, Oregon, Debra Kay Miller of Edmond; siblings, Carol McSpadden of Ketchum, Robert Bryant of Atlanta, Georgia, Phillip Bryant of Grand Lake and Earl Bryant of Carrollton Texas, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded his parents, wife Betty, grandson Brian Webb, and siblings, Betty Jean Kerr, Bessie Bea Hodges, Wesley Bryant, Mary Louise Kellner and James Bryant. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The graveside service will be held, Friday, July 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita, with Pastor Skip McClain officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
