Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove - William "Bill" Ross Cox, 76 year old, Monkey Island, Oklahoma resident passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 in Grove, Oklahoma. Bill was born on April 3, 1938 in Wichita, Kansas, to Ralph Cox Sr. and Frankie H. (Ross) Cox. After high school Bill joined the United States Air Force, and proudly served during the Vietnam Conflict. He would finally retire from the military in 1972.Bill was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating and fishing on Grand Lake. He was also very giving and loved to help people and charities when ever he could. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Cox, and two brothers, Franklin Leroy Cox Jerry Cox. Bill is survived by a sister, Phebe Jean and husband Billy McCulloch, of Belle Plaine, Kansas, a brother Ralph Cox Jr. and wife Terry, of Girard, Kansas, a sister in law, Marsha Cox, several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Bill will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Lake Center Baptist Church, in Monkey Island, Oklahoma. Pastor Kim Hayes will officiate Interment will follow at Rolston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Bill's honor to the Dept of Veterans Affairs.
