William "Bill" LaVern Davis entered paradise from St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri on April 30, 2009 at the age of 78. The son of William E. and Mary Eunice (LaRue) Davis was born on August 4, 1930 in Shidler, Oklahoma. Bill proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked overseas in the construction industry and eventually retired from the Universal Field Services as a Sr. Right of Way Agent. Bill's generous spirit will be missed by all. He never met a stranger. An avid fisherman, he was always planning his next fishing trip. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Luke Davis. He is survived by three daughters, Shelley Davis of Beaumont, TX, Cyndi Pitman and husband Scott of San Antonio, TX, Holly Davis of Oklahoma City, OK and one son, Chris Davis and wife Sue of Newalla, OK. One brother, Don L. Davis and wife Lydia, and two sisters, Norma Bryan and husband Don of Kingsland, TX and Trudi Tipton and husband Mike of Grove, OK. Memorial Services were held at 10:00 were held at 10:00 PM, Saturday May 2, 2009 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain David Rycroft officiating. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are his much beloved grandchildren, Joe and Julie Davis, Chelsea Holcomb and Jon Fowler.
