William Clark Huffman 85, of Wichita, Kansas formerly of Nowata passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in the Claremore Veteran Center. William was born on May 24, 1924 in Tribune, Kansas to T.C. and Clara Bell (Mitchell) Huffman. He lived in Wichita for 60 years before returning to Nowata earlier this year. William served his country in the United States Navy and later became a member of the VFW. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and was an avid Bingo player. William made his living as a butcher for a meat packing company. He is survived by his sister Rosalee Fink of Nowata and his brother Delos "Diz" Huffman of Nowata, 3 nieces Beverly Goldsmith of Nowata, Janis Parrish of Nowata, and Ina Huffman of Texas, 5 nephews Butch Fink of Nowata, Mike Fink of Nowata, David Huffman of Bartlesville, Tommy Huffman of Kansas, City, and Eddie Huffman of Texas, and 3 close friends Luke of Wichita, Barbara of Wichita, and Johnny Gonzalez of Wichita. William was preceded in death by 2 former wives, his parents T.C. and Clara Huffman and 1 brother Thomas Clyde Huffman. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata with Marc Adams officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 105 of Bartlesville.
