William Robert King, age 90 died peacefully Friday February 15, 2013, at the age of 90, at St. Simeon's, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. William "Bob" Robert King was born on July 6, 1922 in Rosehill, Ks. Mr. King held a BS in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University and spent his career with Phillips Petroleum Company in Plastics and Carbon Black where he contributed to over thirty U.S. and international patents. He was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers for over 50 years and served in the United States Army with the 114th Engineer Battalion during World War II in the Pacific theatre. A longtime resident of Bartlesville, Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, R. Jean King who now resides at St. Simeon's in Tulsa; his children Joan Alice King of Daegu, Korea; Ann Carol King Dorsey and son-in-law Timothy Berry Dorsey of Kingwood, Texas; and William (Bill) Robert King Jr. and daughter-in-law Julie Aussen King of Woodbury, Minnesota; and his five grandchildren. A memorial service for friends and family will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Flowers or donations may be made to a Memorial Fund in the name of Bob King and can be given to St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 210 E. 9th St. Bartlesville, OK 74003.
