Mr. William Earl Magee, 75 years old, died Sunday October 12, 2008 in the Jane Phillips Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Magee will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Bartlesville. Dr. Joe Dan Fowler of the First Baptist Church of Bartlesville will preside over the services, with interment to follow in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Teel Post 105, 501 NE Washington Blvd., Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006. William Earl Magee was born on June 26, 1933 the son of William Doyle Magee and Almeda Mae (Taylor) Magee. He was raised and educated in Nowata County in the Fairview School System until 1945 when the family moved to Paola, Kansas. William finished grade school at Glendale School and attended Louisburg High School graduating in 1951. William joined the US Air Force in May of 1952 and received training on electronics and radar at Lowery Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. He was stationed at March, Altus, Dyess and Nellis Air Force Base's. He was honorably discharged in 1962 after ten years of service. William went to work for Dictaphone Corporation in August of 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri and was transferred to Washington DC in 1974 as Assistant District Service Manager. He was promoted in 1979 to District Service Manager in Charlotte North Carolina. William retired from Dictaphone in August of 1994 and moved to Bartlesville in October of that year. William first joined the American Legion Post 250 in Louisburg, Kansas where he was the Post Commander in 1968, he then transferred his membership to the James H. Teel Post 105 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. William is survived by his two brothers Irvin L. Magee and his wife Frances of Kansas City, Missouri and Doyle Edward Magee and his wife Melrena of Fort Collins, Colorado and three nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents.
