William Ray Puckett left us on October 1, 2022, to go and be with family and friends.
Ray was born July 6, 1936, to Arnold and Ruby (Passmore) Puckett. Ray received his education at Highland Park Elementary. In the third grade he met his future wife. He also attended Central Jr. High and graduated from College High in 1955.
He held numerous jobs from ranch work to Ray Alberty Tire. He then went to work at Perkins Mill and Glass for several years. From there he stayed in cabinetry at Gemco and Oklahoma Fixtures in Tulsa. He then started his lifelong career in newspaper, delivering the Tulsa Tribune, Tulsa World, and then the Examiner-Enterprise for over fifty-five years.
Ray is survived by his three sons Bradley, Tim, Chris and his wife Dede; grandsons Jason and his wife Riley, Ryan, and Bradley; great-grandchildren Spencer Puckett, Gia Puckett, Lylah, and Asher; an aunt, numerous nieces and nephews, an ex-daughter-in-law Pat Puckett, and a long-standing personal friend Billy Combs.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Ruby; his wife June; a son Tony; grandson Laren Puckett; and a daughter-in-law Harriett Puckett.
Public visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Funeral Services have been entrusted to Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave., Bartlesville, OK, and will be held Thursday, October 6, at 10:00 am, in the Arnold Moore and Neekamp Chapel. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
