William Carl Schutz

William “Bill” Carl Schutz Sr., 69, passed away Monday, August 21st, 2023, due to a long-term battle with cancer.

Bill was born August 29th, 1953, in Joplin, Missouri to Howard and Elizabeth (Webber) Schutz. Bill grew up in Bartlesville, OK, and graduated from College High School in 1971. He furthered his education at Coffeyville Community College, gaining an associate degree. In May of 1979 Bill and Glory (Bridges) Schutz were married and had three children, William “Carl”, Teresa, and Steven. In August of 1993, Bill and Glory divorced and Bill continued to reside in Bartlesville, OK. William was an employee with Williams Engineering in Tulsa, OK, and a co-owner of B & B Oil Field Services. He also owned Bartlesville Video Repair store and then worked for Phillips Petroleum Company for 28 years.

Bill loved his family and friends dearly. He was a challenge seeker and a problem-solver. He enjoyed music, tinkering with electronics, and shopping at local thrift stores. Bill never met a stranger, and he made friends with everyone. He is also known for his great sense of humor. Bill liked teaching the English language to people who predominantly spoke Spanish and regularly lent a helping hand to those in need.

He is survived by his two sons William “Carl” Schutz and Steven Schutz both of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter and son-in-law Teresa Schutz and Ronald Combs of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren Keyonna Schutz, Kelvin Brown, and Kyron Combs of Bartlesville, OK; Heaven’Lee Schutz and Miracle Schutz of Colorado Springs, CO; brother David Schutz and his wife Chris of Oklahoma City, OK; and nephew Eddie Huddell, his wife Monica, and their two children Alyssa and Casey of San Antonio, TX.

Bill is preceeded in death by his parents Howard and Elizabeth Schutz; sister Kathryn Schutz; and brothers Robert Wolfe Jr. and Evan “Chip” Schutz.

Visitation will be held Wednesday August 30th from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm

Funeral services are at 10am Thursday, August 31st, 2023, at Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 Dewey Ave. Bartlesville, OK 74003.
