William Samples

March 16, 1935 — August 29, 2013

William Vernon Samples, 78 year old Vinita resident, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at his home after an extended illness. He was born on March 16, 1935 in Parsons, Kansas to Ray and Hazel (Williams) Samples. William had worked several places including; Munsingwear, Parsons Ammuniton Plant, lastly he owned and operated City Salvage in Vinita. The surviving family includes: his two sons, Vernon Samples of Vinita and Lacey Samples of Claremore; a sister, Geneva Falling of Bernice; Nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Leta Marie Samples; brothers, Roy and Tommy Samples and a sister Wilma Barger; and a special friend Alice Hood in 2008. The family will hold private services.
