Willie Smith

Willie Doris Smith, lifetime Grove resident died Wednesday evening March 24, 2010 at a Grove nursing home at the age of 88 years old. She was born to her parents Robert Clyde and Jessie Pearl (Jones) Smith on June 26, 1921 in Dodge, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated from Dodge and Grove schools. Willie worked for many years as a waitress at area restaurants. Willie Doris loved to play the piano, sing and read books. She was known for eating breakfast everyday at area cafes and diners and enjoyed visiting with everyone she came in contact with. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, J.E. Smith and Rex Smith; sister, Vinita Montgomery; and nephew, Everett Montgomery. Will Doris leaves many loving memories with her family, brothers, R.C. Smith and Jerry Smith of Grove; sister, Bobbie Carter, of Grove; five nephews and 3 nieces; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews, as well as many other loving relatives and a host of friends. Viewing and Visitation hours will be Sunday March 28, 2010 from noon to 8:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday March 29, 2010 at First Christian Church of Grove with Dr. Wayne Shaw officiating. Interment will follow at Olympus Cemetery.
