Wilma Young

Wilma M. Young, 82 year old Vinita resident, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 with her family by her side. Wilma was born December 15, 1930 in Golden, Missouri to William and Florence Effie (Wilkins) Bartmess. She married Bill Young on December 21, 1951, they have been married for over 60 years. Wilma worked at the Eastern State Hospital as a psychiatric aide or many years. Her husband Bill had the Young's Tire Store in Vinita. Wilma was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Vinita. She loved her grandchildren and coloring Easter Eggs was a favorite thing for them to do together; she also liked crocheting, fishing, and cross stitch. The family includes: husband Bill of the home; children, Linda Coffman and husband Don, Bob Young and wife Lahona, Terry Young and wife Sherry all of Vinita; sister Ruth Wood and husband Ken of Vinita; sister in-law, Maria Bartmess of Texas; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, a son William Edwin Young, Jr., a brother Joe Bartmess and a grandson D. J. Storey. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening, September 6, 2013 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the Trinity Baptist Church in Vinita, with Rev. Ken Farris officiating. Interment will follow at the Rogers Cemetery west of Welch. Friends may give to the Craig County Cancer Outreach. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
