Woodena Lea Ellis, 58, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital in Siloam Springs. She had currently been living with her sister in Gentry, Arkansas. Woodena was born November 19, 1949 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Woodrow and Leona (Downing) Peak. She graduated from the State School for the Deaf at Sulphur, Oklahoma. After graduation, she traveled extensively with her many friends. She had lived in the Chetopa, Kansas area for several years prior to returning to the Tahlequah area to be near her family. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Chetopa. Woodena was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Paul Wilson and Dana "Skip" Peak; two sisters, Virginia Pickup and Paula Peak; and a very, very special niece, Monica Craig. Survivors include three sisters, Sharon Haag and her husband Richard of Gentry, Arkansas, Sandra "Jo" Peak of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Jackie Peak of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; and her two very special girl friends, Carol Kalaho and Harry Lee Buckley both of Chetopa, Kansas. The family will receive friends at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2008. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Jay with Rev. Raymond H. Whetstone of Faith Baptist Church in Chetopa officiating.
