Woodrow Howard

Obituary notice for Woodrow W. Howard Woodrow Howard age 92, of Grove, OK died Tuesday May 19, 2009 in the Integris Grove General Hospital. The son of Rankin Howard and Beulah Stephenson Howard, he was born on April 26, 1917 in Memphis, Texas. Woodrow married Allene Beatrice Ditto on December 18, 1938 in Levelland, TX (known as Cleo and Cass to the family). They lived in Levelland area where he was a cotton farmer. They moved to Ruidoso, NM where he ran a Glass Shop and Grocery Store. Later moving to Fairland and Grove areas, they had a cattle farm. Surviving are his wife Allene of the home, his four children Jeanne Howard Whiteley, Cathleen Howard Ruff and her husband James, Wilson Rankin Howard and his wife Faye, William Harrison Howard, nine grandchildren; Chris and his wife Christine Whiteley, Greg and his wife Cindy Whiteley, Vanessa and her husband Darin Dunn, Brooke Howard, Ashley Howard, Vonda Kay and her husband Joe Zimmerman, David Howard, Brandon and his wife Mary Sires, and Gary and Angela O'Daniel, fourteen great-grandchildren; Corinna Whiteley, Stephanie Whiteley , Derek Zimmerman, Ryan Zimmerman, Lauren Whiteley, Jackson Whiteley, Quinn O'Daniel, Ashlyn O'Daniel, James Sires, Rebecca Sires, Jon Sires, Samantha Sires, Tyler Howard, Hailey Howard, and one great-great-grandchild Tristan Whiteley, a niece and her husband Jean and Joe Minyard. The funeral will be at 2 PM on Friday May 22, 2009 in the Church of Christ in Grove, OK with Ministers Bob Hampton and Doug Rainbolt officiating. The interment will be in the Olympus Cemetery. There will be a visitation for family and friends at 6 PM on Thursday in the funeral home. The services are under the directions of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK.
