Woodrow Floyd "Woody" Walker, 95 year-old rural Vinita (Pensacola) resident, died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. He was born August 8, 1912 in Eucha-Topsy area to James Buchanan Walker and Eliza Howdeshell Walker. Woodrow was married to Helen Mae Graham on December 2, 1935 in Jay, she preceded him in death on May 23, 2000. Woodrow worked for GRDA for 20 years on the maintenance crew retiring in 1977 and was also a farmer stockman. He had made his home in the Pensacola area since 1942 and had lived in the same house since 1948. Woodrow was a member of the Otterbein Methodist Church (formerly Military). Woodrow enjoyed his farm, raising sweet corn and giving it to family and friends, crappie fishing Grand Lake, loved his children and grandchildren. The family includes: his two sons, Glenn Walker and wife Linda of Owasso, Floyd Walker and wife Judy of Copan, two daughters, Mary Lou Brown and husband Tommy of Sapulpa, Patricia Ryan and husband Tom of Leavenworth, Kansas, thirteen grandchildren and Seventeen great-grandchildren. Other family preceding him in death were his, six brothers, Frank, John, Jim, Leonard, Bill and Clint; three sisters, Jenny Robertson, Annie Cohea and Opal Katz. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the Otterbein Methodist Church, with Pastor Jim Bradford officiating. Interment will follow at the Military Cemetery.
