Zella Lee Masters, passed away at the Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano, TX, on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the age of 92. Zella was born on September 10, 1919 in Deleware County, OK, the daughter of the late Edgar Chafey and Clara (Bassett) Chafey. Zella graduated from Jay High School. On January 18, 1939 she married Clarence "Joe" Masters in Pineville, MO and they had five children together. Zella and Joe owned and operated Masters Grocery in between Grove and Jay starting in 1963. Later Zella started and operated Deleware Daycare in the early 1970's. She enjoyed puzzles and sewing but most of all she loved to be around her family especially her dog Adam. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband Joe Masters; brother James Chafey; sister Alma Martin; and grandson Kerry Smith. She is survived by her dog Adam of the home; two daughters: Barbara Smith and husband Bill of Claremore, OK and Pattie Holland of Jay, OK; three sons: Charles Masters and wife Billie of Tustin, CA, Jack Masters of Grove, OK, and Bill Masters and wife Ahanawake of Grove, OK; one sister Anna Lawson of Broken Arrow; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren. The graveside service will be held at the Cheater Cemetery on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10AM with Pastor Carl Murphy, presiding. The family will greet friends from 6PM to 8PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK on Thursday, July 5, 2012. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK. Friends and family may leave notes of encouragement by viewing Zella's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com. Casket bearers will be Larry Masters, Bill John Masters, Dustin Holland, Jeff Kirby, Jeremy Brodrick, and Josh Lillich.
